Who successfully negotiated his way out of a trial that his client was certain to lose, on terms very favorable to his client, at the eleventh hour before trial tomorrow?

This guy. "Well, our client is willing to offer the terms previously set forth, and in addition, she's willing to waive her rights to appeal..., so, she'd vacate by the 28th of February, give you a Writ of Possession that you wouldn't execute until at least February 28, she'd give you 18K, and she's willing to waive her rights to appeal."

(The emphasis on the waiving rights to appeal was to let them know that we were going to appeal whatever happened tomorrow... costing more money and taking more time. Awesome.)
