Chhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Watching Mad Men makes me want to drink whiskey and smoke unfiltered Lucky Strikes.
On Halloween, I did precisely that. But I didn't get through the pack of Luckys.
Did I mention they're unfiltered?
Finally having finished the pack, I've felt like I have something caught on the base of my tongue for DAYS now. It doesn't dislodge with eating, and it doesn't dislodge with gargling.
I hope my brief and unfortunate foray into unfiltered cigarettes didn't land me with a lil' spot of throat cancer.
And if it didn't, I wish that fleck of tobacco would DISLODGE already.

Can you describe it in more detail or take a picture and send it to me? I can try to make a diagnosis from across the country if I can!

I don't think I'll be able to take a picture. It just feels like a fleck of tobacco is stuck between the side of my tongue in the back of my throat, and...the side of my...throat. It doesn't hurt, it just feels like I have a tea leaf or a piece of peanut (or even a hair) stuck back there.

Give it a few days. Try drinking hot liquids and continue gargling. If it doesn't go away, try to go see your doctor. You definitely don't wanna mess around with this stuff.
