Dude, seriously? I would love to own a place. Nothing quite like tossing 1100 down a month for a room in a 4 bdrm apartment to make you feel like you're wasting a good portion of your salary (yes, my salary is small).

But what if you're going to have to pay more than half your monthly take-home to afford something. A hot place in a frills-free building?

It's just scary in that it's EXPENSIVE and a LOT OF WORK.

Do you *have* to stay in Miami?

If I stay in Florida? In a word: Yes.

And in order to move out of Florida, I have to take another bar. In a word: Meh.

It's just first-homebuyer jitters.

I will not congratulate you for moving, because you are still staying within the confines of South Florida.

When I move the next time, it will be back to America! I would gladly take another bar as long as I had a guaranteed job to go with it.

I just moved into my first place. Closed on March 1. Nearly shit the bed when I signed the contract. Still awesome though. Even now that I'm in here, I'm still having pangs of was it the right move.

April 28th marks my housewarming all day bacchanalia / Mocktoberfest / beer pong tournament ordeal. Should you happen to be in the Philadelphia region, you are more then welcome to stop bye. Nay, you shall be the guest of honor.

PS: the longer the wait to take another bar, the more you screw yourself.

I'm with you SB...the thought of having to take another bar exam will probably keep from ever moving out of state.

Elad - Thank you! Once I 1) buy a place 2) move into it and 3) get it semi-ready for people, I'm excited to have you & Shawn over.

TBP - Oh, you'll congratulate me when you dirty whores have a crashpad on the beach.

Sigh - I saw that you had just bought and whenever I'm freaking out I think, "Well, Sigh just bought herself a place. I can do it too." Mazel tov. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be in Philly then, as I imagine by April 28, I'll be moving into whatever I buy, shitting the bed, and eating beans. Only beans. Cuz I can't afford anything else.

JP - Dude. Sucks, don't it?! I don't want to stay here forever! My one consolation is that I didn't move to NORTH CAROLINA! HAHAHAHAH! ;) Kidding. Sort of. Not really.

Ohh I feel that pain - more than half of your monthly income towards house expenses - that is exactly what I am doing. Just make sure you set up some type of budget and you will be fine.

Um and technically aren't you currently an owner? So how are you having the first time home-buyer jitters?

Where is the new place you are buying?

I have a plan. You take the CA bar. You buy a fabs condo on the beach on the PACIFIC Ocean. I move in and we cook jew food, drink too much cheap vino and laugh a lot about how we're both short, whiney jews.

You love it!

I am neither Jewish, nor short. However, I am intrigued.

I hear all of y'all in regards to not taking another bar which is why I am not doing a darn thing out here in the crappy northwest, except trying to be a housewife. Which I'm failing at, because I don't clean. Poor Ben. Even if I wanted to take the bar out here, WA doesn't use the MBE. How weird is that??!!!! Just another way they're so backwards out here. Ugh. I can't believe you want to move out here SB. Although they are very gay-friendly. Pensacola not doing it for you? Hold on...I'm laughing at the thought of you living in Pensacola. They do have A gay bar though. Congrats on the new house. I want a house but I refuse to buy one out here b/c there's no way I'm staying out here.
