The ball is on a string, and attached to the cup, so there's no worry if you don't catch the ball in the cup.
And clean-up is as easy as catching a ball in a cup!
So why spend another day not catching a ball in a cup, when you could be catching a ball in a cup!?!

SD has one of those in his desk at work. When George III is on the phone from Chicago, dispensing directions and mandates, out comes the ball in cup thing. It has a real name, but I forget what it is. He's also been known to employ it when talking to my mother (we have one at home, too).
I have opined that when he perfects his techique lefthanded, it's time to find a new boss.
