Kaddish.
Normally you know that I like to write frothy entries about... froth.
But today I found out that a guy I sort of knew from law school, a guy who was good friends with many of my friends, and a guy who always seemed like a genuinely nice guy...
was killed on 95 on Tuesday in a car accident.
Friends of mine from D.C. are flying in for his funeral tomorrow.
People my age don't die.
This guy wasn't supposed to die. He had just gotten married four months before, and was, like most of my friends, a young up-and-coming lawyer.
I'm sorry for his parents. I'm sorry for his new wife. I'm sorry for his family. I'm sorry for his friends. I'm sorry for his friends who are my friends.
Despite my strong belief that when it's your time, it's your time... this is too sudden. This isn't supposed to happen to us.
Godspeed, Alex.
